best free twitter toolsLooking for the best free Twitter tools for your social media management? You’ve come to the right place. As a self-confessed Twitter addict, dealing with the platform everyday for myself as well as for clients, I understand how navigating through Twitter’s many features can easily drain your time! Luckily for you I’ve compiled of some of my best, FREE Twitter tools (because everyone loves a bargain!) that are also time saving so you can spend more time doing what you enjoy, which in my case is social media management, plus the other services I provide for clients.

I’m not an affiliate for any of these Twitter tools! I’m purely recommending them because I use them practically every day for my social media management, I think they’re great and think you’ll find them great too :)

Recommended Twitter Productivity Tools

1. Buffer

Buffer lets you schedule tweets on the fly directly from the page you want to tweet without logging into Twitter or any other dashboard.  You can browse the web at your leisure and store interesting content in a “Buffer” to be sent as tweets at scheduled times of the day. The free version allows up to 10 buffers a day. You can even test Buffer on this site! Simply press the “Buffer” button on the top right of this article to see how it works.

2. FriendOrFollow

A simple Twitter tool that lets you check reciprocal and non reciprocal follows on Twitter. FriendOrFollow has three tabs; following, fans and friends. Followers shows the people you follow that don’t follow back, fans are people who follow you that you don’t follow, and friends are people you follow and who follow you back. Warning! This tool can be addictive- I was hooked for the first week, checking it several times daily and obsessing about lost followers. Don’t worry my FriendOrFollow habit is now manageable and I only check it a few times a week and I’m more zen about my follower count =)

3. Feedblitz

This handy Twitter tool lets you sign up to your favourite blogs in one place and for new articles from those blogs to be sent direct to your inbox in a frequency chosen by you. What I love about this tool is that you can add any site that interests you, only Feedblitz has your email address (great if you’re worried about spam from the blogs you sign up to) and you can receive your updates via email or other methods like Tweets direct to your Twitter account. How’s that for a Twitter productivity tool!

4. Paper.li

A smart Twitter publishing tool that makes publishers out of all of us! How? By creating a magazine based on your selected keywords featuring content from your Twitter friend’s tweets that match those keywords. Then it automatically tweets this on your Twitter timeline at the frequency you choose. It automatically adds @mentions of the top content contributors for each issue- thus improving  engagement with your followers. Clever Paper.li!

5. NutshellMail

NutshellMail delivers a summary of what’s going on in your Twitter account and other social networks direct to your inbox. It’s not just for Twitter – but also other popular social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube etc so you don’t need to waste time logging in to multiple networks to stay updated.

6. Tweriod

Twitter is great because of the large pool of information. But this can be a pain when your carefully thought out tweets get lost amongst the hundreds of new tweets competing for your follower’s attention each minute. Tweriod helps you tweet smarter by running an audit of your Twitter followers to show the time and days they are most active on Twitter- which helps you establish the when to tweet for optimum impact.

Thats it for now! There are many other great Twitter tools (Hootsuite, TweetDeck to name a few) but with these six Twitter tools you’re on your way to streamlined, kick-ass Twitter marketing management- now go be productive!
